Ivana Jovanovic in her art studio, the creative mind behind Ewe Baba dolls

Meet the Artist

Hi, I’m Ivana,  the artist behind Ewe Baba - a plush, sensual world stitched from cotton, wool, and a deep belief in the power of touch.

I began making dolls while studying psychology, inspired by Waldorf pedagogy and its focus on natural materials, imagination, and emotional connection.  At first, I made dolls for children… but it wasn’t long before I realized:
adults need softness too.

We all crave something warm to hold. Something made just for us.

That’s when the world of Ewe Baba began to grow.

Today, I create life-size cloth dolls for people of all ages - soft, warm, full of character. Each one is completely unique, needle-felted from scratch without molds or patterns. No shortcuts. No mass production. Just hours of sculpting, shaping, and dreaming.

I work from a cozy studio in Serbia, where my days start with tea and incense, sci-fi shows humming in the background or music in the air, and hands deep in wool and fur. I often  work curled up on the floor. I always give each doll a hug before they leave me.

Each piece holds something of me .
Something I long for. Something I remember. Something I want to share.

I hope Ewe Baba attracts kindred spirits: people who crave something personal, who believe in slow art and real texture, who want their fantasies turned into touchable reality.
People who understand that dolls aren’t just for display - they’re for feeling.

If you'd like to read more about how Ewe Baba is growing , and the heart behind it all , you can read my personal letter here.

I don’t just sew dolls.
I sculpt softness into something that breathes fantasy, comfort, and connection.
